Drum and Bass: Its become so popular that is the 3rd most listen to music globaly and to think of where is has come from and the critsisms it has encountered over the years it has proven all the negatives wrong and is booming!.

To me drum and bass is very intelegent and I'd like to see some of the most accomplished non drum and bass producers push out some of the quality tunes the d&b crews do. Dj's and producers from all over have invited different sounds from nearly every type of music and transformed it into a new revelation of rhythms from a hard jump up style to an atmospheric style of rollin beats.

From the time that LTJ booken released Demons Theme and Music on Good Looking records the path was set and has not stopped. There are many more before these two releases but in my mind this was the start. Good Looking records is just superb and come to think of it all the groups labels like Looking Good, Cooking, Earth, Progression Sessions and so on are all just as good. Creative Source follows in my book with some top productions and class act tunes. The Metalheadz are also in a class of thier own and one of the early tunes that is one of my all time favourites although not really drum and bass but old skool hardcore is Sinister - What a tune that is! Dark and rough! The Metalheadz have gone from strength to strength and there discography is listless. Other such labels such as Moving Shadow are just timeless with productions to suit all genres Rob Playford will go down as ledgend as well as the label itself. There are so many labels and tunes that I will be adding over time and they will be from the early drum and bass up to the present time.

Ramm Records is another pioneer in my view and they have also released drum and bass/old skool hardcore from way back. Such classic tunes came from the label like Origin Unknown - Valley of the shaows (long dark tunnel as it got known and then upto the very successful Nightlife series. The production on these tunes is superb and there just is not a sound system loud enough!

Hospital records just keeps on suprising me with the truck loads of tunes of quality they keep throwing out. I really like this label because it is so melodic and inspirational. Moving into one of my favourites; FSOL - Papua New Guinea (High Contrast Mix) What a remix, single sided white label - one of the best remixes on the scene - See if you can get a copy GOLD DUST!

I do beleieve though this has been re-pressed a few times so you may be lucky.
